Wöss & Partners has ample experience in energy generation and transmission and gas distribution projects, as well as the regulatory aspects of the connection of large power plants to the grid and the determination and verification of energy tariffs. It has represented large corporations in international public tenders for hydroelectric power plants, and the development and construction of combined cycle thermoelectric as well as renewable energy plant projects.
Wöss & Partners has been engaged in activities related to the distribution, commercialization and transport of natural gas, as well as in energy generation through hydropower, solar and wind farm projects. It is also familiar with all aspects of energy regulation.
It recently won a US$240 million energy tariff arbitration representing a major energy corporation and owner of a large thermoelectrical power plant dealing with challenging aspects of Mexican energy regulation. In 2020, it advised a major international EPC contractor with respect to more than 30 claims regarding the connection of a 1,000 MW combined cycle energy plant to the Mexican electricity grid and legal and regulatory issues related to sophisticated technical issues.
